DESMOND McCARTHY
There's drawing like an architect and then there's drawing as an artist. They're not the same at all.
Desmond is an artist who prefers drawing to painting. Whether it's pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, depends on the effect you're seeking to achieve. Take a look at some of his work and you'll appreciate what he can offer.
Desmond is a relaxed and experienced teacher who can guide you to acquire the essential skills of drawing. These skills are to a degree fundamental to all artists since it's usual to sketch subjects even if you're planning to paint in colour eventually. The difference between sketching and a finished drawing is in the composition of the complete picture, in its tonality and, of course, in its detail.
We strongly recommend Desmond's week of drawing to all artists. It's a skill frequently overlooked but extremely worthwhile.
